Abstract
UK police are preparing for multiple far-right demonstrations across the country, which will test Prime Minister Keir Starmer's ability to address anti-immigrant unrest. Last weekend, violence erupted as hotels housing asylum-seekers were surrounded and set on fire, fueled by online misinformation that falsely claimed the suspect in a recent attack was a Muslim asylum-seeker. Authorities have arrested nearly 380 people involved in violent disorder, and the Crown Prosecution Service is working to swiftly charge those responsible. The telecommunications regulator Ofcom has called on social media companies to prevent users from inciting violence. [Extracted from the article]
