Abstract
The article investigates an issue related to a specific text passage in the 1592 edition of "The Spanish Tragedy" by Thomas Kyd, in which there is a debate regarding line 9 and 10, particularly whether it's a compositor error or an intentional rhetorical figure of words, and epistrophe. The study delves into the history of literary interpretations and scholarly editions of this passage, highlighting that Kyd used epistrophe as a rhetorical device, and it was not unusual in Elizabethan drama.
