Abstract

The article focuses on how readers' empathic and cocreative engagement with narratives is stimulated through various textual elements. Topics include the role of intercorporeal engagement and transportation in fostering empathy, the concept of "transomatization" in reader response, and the interplay between narrative communication and self-recognition, illustrated through Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Feathertop: A Moralized Legend."
