Abstract
This article focuses on a comprehensive global analysis of refugee resettlement services across 26 countries responsible for 99.9% of all resettled refugees since 1951. It introduces the Global Resettlement Services (GRS) dataset, which includes 42 indicators measuring a wide range of state-mandated services such as pre-departure orientation, housing, language and cultural training, employment support, healthcare, and social integration programs. Using cluster analysis, the study identifies four distinct typologies of resettlement approaches—Core Services, Cultural Transition, Limited Provision, and Flexible Support—each reflecting different combinations and intensities of services offered. The typology aims to facilitate cross-national comparison, policy improvement, and collaboration among resettlement countries, while highlighting the need for more accessible, adaptable, and comprehensive services to support refugees’ integration and belonging.
