Abstract
The article "The Care Economy al América Latina: A Multi-scalar Feminist Project" by Rianne Mahon explores how feminists in Latin America have advanced the concept of a care economy. Mahon argues that the development of the care economy in the region has been driven by feminist scholars from within, rather than being imported from the Global North. The care economy aims to eliminate gendered inequalities in care work and services, with a focus on structural transformation towards egalitarianism, solidarity, and care for the environment. The article highlights the importance of feminist activism and scholarship in shaping the discourse around care work in Latin America and the Caribbean. [Extracted from the article]
