Abstract
Russia is open to resuming discussions with the US on nuclear arms control, as stated by Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu. The negotiations for a new agreement would need to address issues such as NATO expansion, the US missile-defense system, and the deployment of certain missiles. Despite Russia's suspension of the New START nuclear treaty in 2023, both countries continue to adhere to its limits on deployed strategic warheads. The US has extended the treaty until 2026, and discussions are ongoing regarding potential new proposals and agreements. [Extracted from the article]
