Abstract
This article provides a summary of a roundtable discussion on the Brezhnev years in the Soviet Union. It challenges the idea of stagnation during this period and explores the unique aspects and lasting impact of the era. The article covers various topics such as domestic politics, international connections, and the southern periphery of the Soviet Union. It also acknowledges the limitations of current research and the need for new approaches, particularly in light of recent events in Ukraine.
