Abstract
Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to regain hurricane strength as it approaches the south Texas coast. The storm, which weakened after passing through the Yucatan Peninsula, is now moving across the Gulf of Mexico where warm waters are helping it strengthen. The storm's track has shifted northward, and it is likely to make landfall between Corpus Christi and Galveston Island, bringing heavy rain and a potentially life-threatening storm surge. Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has declared a state of emergency in 121 counties and is urging residents to take shelter and exercise caution. [Extracted from the article]
