Abstract
Noting that critics have classed Rousseau's I morale sensitive i in both of these camps, Menin states his case: that Rousseau's thought on the subject is original and fits into neither school. Marco Menin's translation of his 2013 monograph (originally published in Italian) makes his impressive and stimulating work on Rousseau's never-written book, I La Morale sensitive ou le Matérialisme du sage i , available to a wider audience. Menin's analysis of Rousseau's political writings is excellent, bridging from the individual to society via Rousseau's philosophy of language and signs. [Extracted from the article]
