Abstract
The BriefLightBox Protests spreadMembers of a student protest movement in support of Palestinian civilians link arms on Columbia University's Manhattan campus on April 18. When the protesters, who called on Columbia to divest from companies that supply weapons to Israel, refused to clear the area that day, university officials requested police help remove them, which led to more than 100 arrests. In the days that followed, similar scenes unfolded at other schools, including New York University and Yale. For more of our best photography, visit time.com/lightboxPHOTO (COLOR) [Extracted from the article]
