Abstract
An interview with historian William Dalrymple is presented. Dalrymple refers to "The Fall of Constantinople 1453" by Steven Runciman as the history book that has had the greatest influence on him, while Gupta India as the historical moment he would most like to go back to. He expresses his desire to have met the seventh century Indian prince Mahendravarman Pallava and his cousin Vajrabodi. He names the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City as the best museum.
