Abstract

This article focuses on research from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, examining how leadership influences employee wellbeing through psychological safety in hierarchical, high-demand workplaces such as law firms. The study used a time-lagged survey design with 89 lawyers to test the role of psychological safety as a mediator between leadership behaviors and various employee outcomes, including wellbeing, job satisfaction, performance, incivility, and burnout. Findings indicate that psychological safety significantly affects both positive and negative aspects of employee experience.
