Abstract
Pancho Villa's gold Colt revolver, a significant artifact from the Mexican revolution, is set to be auctioned at the centenary of his assassination. Villa played a critical role in ousting President Porfirio DÃaz and bringing Francisco I Madero to power in 1911. The revolver, a 38-caliber gold-plated Colt Single Action Army with factory engraving and pearl grips, dates back to 1910 and was crafted in Eibar, Spain. There are two speculative stories about how Villa obtained the weapon, one involving President Madero and the other involving a German agent. The revolver is considered a rare and valuable piece of arms collecting history. The auction will take place at the Rock Island Auction Company in Texas. [Extracted from the article]
