Abstract

The New York State Archives has been scanning and creating digital copies of thousands of records since 2008, making them accessible to researchers and the public. In 2023, they scanned a record-breaking 83,219 pages, including 49,332 pages for copy orders placed by researchers. The most requested types of records were criminal records, followed by law-related records, land records, Motion Picture Division film scripts, and census records. The archives also worked on adding to their Digital Collections, scanning 33,887 pages of material, including Revolutionary War era Assembly records. The digitized records can be viewed on the archives' website and on Ancestry.com. [Extracted from the article]
