Abstract

This article, titled "Slaves to International Comity," draws parallels between the abolition of slavery and the current issue of aviation carbon neutrality. The author argues that just as it took a large player like the UK to take action against slavery, a major state is needed to address the issue of carbon emissions in aviation. The article criticizes the lack of action and meaningful commitments in the aviation industry, comparing it to the arguments made by British colonialists and plantation owners in the past. The author concludes by calling for action and criticizing the fear of economic harm that prevents progress in the industry. [Extracted from the article]
