Abstract
The article explores the historical significance of the Boston Tea Party, a protest that occurred in 1773 against British policies in Boston. The protest was in response to the Tea Act of 1773, which imposed a tax on tea and granted a monopoly on its sale to the British East India Company. Disguised as Native Americans, a group of men dumped 46 tons of tea into the harbor. This act of defiance became a symbol of American resistance to British rule and played a role in the lead-up to the American Revolution. The Boston Tea Party remains a significant event in American history, with its influence seen in various protests throughout the years. [Extracted from the article]
