Abstract
This article investigates the effects of co-fermented broths of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on the growth, yield, and quality of pepper plants. Using combinations of Bacillus velezensis HP9, Burkholderia pyrrocinia P10, and Bacillus flexus HGD12 strains, the study found that all co-fermentation treatments enhanced pepper growth, fruit yield, and nutritional content compared to controls. These improvements were associated with increased soil nutrient levels (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and significant shifts in soil bacterial communities, notably higher abundances of Proteobacteria and Sphingomonas, which correlated positively with available phosphorus. The findings suggest that co-fermented PGPR broths can beneficially modify soil microbiota and nutrient availability, thereby promoting sustainable pepper cultivation.
