Abstract

The contribution is dedicated to the presentation of the document "Bericht von Herrn Prediger Simeon Popoff, aus der Missionstätigkeit in Voyvodovo - tschechisches Dorf - in Bulgarien", which was written in 1938 by the last preacher of the former largestMethodist congregation in Bulgaria. The text of the Report is supplemented by a brief outline of the life and work of Simeon Popov, whose work in Voyvodovo was in 1949 forcibly ended by the communist regime with a fabricated trial, on the basis of which S. Popov was sentenced to almost 8 years in prison. Popov's text is supplemented with ongoing explanatory notes and introduced by a brief outline of Vojvodovo history. In the final part, the contribution of Popov's Report to the study of the history of Vojvodovo and Protestant missions in Bulgaria is commented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
