Abstract

The article focuses on recent U.S. military contracts for advanced aviation systems, highlighting Lockheed Martin’s production of six MH-60R Seahawk anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopters for Norway and Northrop Grumman’s preparation to build five E-2D Advanced Hawkeye radar surveillance aircraft for Japan. The MH-60R, a multimission helicopter equipped with sophisticated sensors and avionics such as the AN/SRQ-4 Hawklink datalink and Elbit Systems’ helmet display tracker, supports ASW, anti-surface warfare, and various naval missions. The E-2D, described as a tactical airborne early warning aircraft with advanced radar and mission systems, enhances carrier strike group situational awareness and battle management. Both contracts involve work across multiple U.S. locations and are part of broader efforts to modernize allied military aviation capabilities.
