Abstract

The article discusses the impact of Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan's invention, the Scaphandre Autonome or Aqua Lung, on the diving industry. The invention led to the development of open-circuit SCUBA diving and the creation of various diving equipment such as regulators, tanks, exposure suits, masks, fins, and accessories.
