Abstract
Seattle has reached a $10 million settlement with 50 protesters who sued the city over the police department's response to racial justice protests in 2020. The protests followed the killing of George Floyd and saw the police department use aggressive tactics to disperse crowds, including tear gas and projectiles. The settlement comes after a federal judge ordered the department to stop using chemical weapons against peaceful demonstrators. The case involved thousands of videos and witness interviews. The city is not admitting liability in the settlement. [Extracted from the article]
