Abstract
The Israel-Palestine dispute is a complex and multifaceted conflict rooted in historical, political, religious, and social factors. It began with the rise of Arab and Jewish nationalism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The conflict intensified with the British Mandate and the Balfour Declaration, which supported the establishment of a Jewish homeland in predominantly Arab Palestine. The displacement of Palestinians during the Arab-Israeli War in 1948 and subsequent conflicts created a significant refugee problem. The occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip by Israel, along with the construction of Israeli settlements, further exacerbates the conflict. International involvement and geopolitical interests have also played a role in the dispute. The core issues include territorial borders, the status of Jerusalem, the right of return for Palestinian refugees, Israeli settlements, security concerns, casualties and violence, living conditions, and cultural impact. Various attempts at resolution, such as peace talks and regional approaches, have been made, but a lasting solution requires sustained negotiations, compromises, and a commitment to peace from all parties involved. Possible solutions include a two-state solution, a one-state solution, a confederation model, economic integration and development, and international mediation and support.
