Abstract
This article focuses on a recording featuring Anna Serova’s viola transcription of William Walton’s neglected Cello Concerto, accompanied by the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano & Trento conducted by Roberto Molinelli. The transcription is noted for its successful adaptation despite the technical challenges of transferring cello music to viola, and the concerto itself is praised for its memorable themes and musical quality. The disc also includes contemporary works by Molinelli, such as *Lady Walton's Garden* and *William's Rock*, the latter being a triple concerto for viola, viola d’amore, and electric guitar, which receives mixed commentary regarding its instrumentation. The recording is presented with proper copyright permissions, including those from Oxford University Press.
