Abstract
Climate alliances, such as the First Movers Coalition, are important in addressing the climate crisis. However, there is a lack of transparency and disclosure within these alliances, which can hinder their legitimacy and trustworthiness. Currently, there are no formal public registries for alliances, and their disclosure practices vary greatly. To improve transparency, the authors propose that alliances disclose information about their members, management, finances, mission, method, and metrics. They also suggest that disclosure should be proportional to the size and potential harm caused by the alliance. While voluntary disclosure is a good first step, the authors argue that eventually, disclosure should become mandatory. [Extracted from the article]
