Abstract
A 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196 R Stromlinienwagen was sold for €46,500,000 ($49,011,000) at an auction in Stuttgart, Germany. This early Formula One racer, part of a three-auction series, is the second-highest sum paid for a car at auction. The car, driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss, is one of four Streamliner versions produced, with only one not owned by Mercedes. [Extracted from the article]
