Abstract
In the late 1980s, Apple initiated the Pink project to develop a next-generation operating system with memory protection and multitasking capabilities. The project evolved into an object-oriented system written in C++, aiming to enhance software development for Apple computers. Despite significant progress, the project faced challenges and eventually transitioned into Taligent, a joint venture with IBM that aimed to revolutionize computing but was ultimately dissolved in 1995. The collaboration between Apple and IBM led to innovations in software development and the PowerPC CPU architecture, shaping the future of both companies. [Extracted from the article]
