Abstract
The article discusses the recent general strike in Nigeria over the issue of minimum wage. Union leaders and the federal government signed an agreement to end the strike, but state governors rejected the increased minimum wage offer. The strike had paralyzed public services across the country, with government buildings, petrol stations, and courts closed. The unions were also protesting against a steep electricity tariff hike and other economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu. The Nigerian government admitted to subsidizing fuel, despite previously announcing the end of the program. Additionally, the article mentions other news topics such as the trial of executives from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, building collapses in Nigeria, and President Tinubu's efforts to promote climate measures.
