Abstract
The article reviews Vikramaditya Prakash's book, *Le Corbusier’s Chandigarh Revisited: Preservation as Future Modernism*, which explores the relevance of Chandigarh, a modernist urban planning project, in addressing contemporary architectural and ecological challenges. Prakash, who has personal ties to the city and its architectural history, presents three essays that examine the city's design, its historical context, and potential future adaptations, particularly in light of climate change and democratic ideals. The book critiques traditional interpretations of Chandigarh, advocating for a more flexible understanding of its legacy and the importance of reimagining modernist concepts for future urban planning. Ultimately, it emphasizes the need for ongoing critical engagement with architectural history to inform contemporary practices. [Extracted from the article]
