Abstract
In the article, the author discusses the influence of peacocks in poetry writing during the early 20th century, particularly how the literal and metaphorical peacock slaughtering impacted the poetry and culture of the fin de siecle. Also cited is the depiction of the peacock in the works of poets like Christina Rossetti, Gerard Manley Hopkins, and Lord Alfred Tennyson.
