Abstract
The article focuses on Frank Gorman, a lawyer and author, who recounts his experience in the John Wilkes Booth exhumation trial in his book, *Confronting Bad History: How a Lost Cause and Fraudulent Book Caused the John Wilkes Booth Exhumation Trial*. Gorman, who has practiced law since 1969, represented Green Mount Cemetery in a case questioning whether Booth's assassination of President Lincoln was part of a conspiracy involving Vice President Andrew Johnson, as suggested in a 1907 book. His research for the book expanded to include themes of the Lost Cause and white supremacy, aiming to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding Booth's fate and to provide insights into historical narratives that affect contemporary discussions on race and justice. Gorman hopes his work will resonate with a diverse audience, including history enthusiasts, legal professionals, and forensic experts. [Extracted from the article]
