Abstract
The article examines the poetic works of John Clare, focusing on themes of nature, memory, and the impact of societal changes on the rural landscape. It highlights Clare's emotional connection to nature and his sense of alienation due to the Enclosure Acts, which restricted access to common lands and transformed his cherished environment. The analysis also discusses Clare's unique perspective as a rural poet and the influence of other Romantic poets, such as Wordsworth and Blake, on his style. Ultimately, the article portrays Clare's poetry as a means of navigating the complexities of existence through the interplay of joy, sorrow, and nostalgia. [Extracted from the article]
