Abstract
The author takes a look into the political and economic crises facing Haiti. The author discusses the consequences of the independence debt of Haiti including its lack of economic power, isolation, stagnation as an agricultural country, French imperialism, failure to keep up with the industrialization, and destruction of commercial structures under Haitian President François Duvalier. The author notes the complicity of criminal importers of lethal guns and ammunition in Haiti.
