Abstract
In the article, the author discusses the views of poet Gerard Manley Hopkins about the political commonwealth and other topics like his lifelong study on the complexity of nature and multiplicity of life. Topics include the importance of studying pre-Socratic philosophy to tackle the problem of parts and wholes and Hopkins' opinion on Plato's works as containing Socraticism, Eleaticism, Heracliteanism and Pythagoreanism.
