Abstract

This article discusses several historical examples of child monarchs who were thrust onto the throne at a young age due to various circumstances. It explores the challenges and successes these young rulers faced during their reigns. Examples include Aethelred II of England, Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, Richard II of England, Charles VI of France, Edward VI of England, Ivan IV of Russia, Murad IV of the Ottoman Empire, Fulin of China, Sobhuza II of Swaziland, and Puyi of China. Despite their age, some of these child monarchs were able to rule effectively, while others faced difficulties and were eventually deposed or faced tragic ends. [Extracted from the article]
