Abstract

The article focuses on London-based artist Ben Edge's documentation of British rituals, highlighting his upcoming book, *Folklore Rising*, which features over 200 paintings and photographs chronicling his exploration of Britain's living traditions. A specific ritual featured is the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, a centuries-old ceremony in Staffordshire involving six "deer men" and other characters who perform a dance through the village to celebrate a good harvest. Edge emphasizes that these customs reflect contemporary culture and the participants' communities rather than serving as historical reenactments of their Pagan origins. The book is set for publication on October 8 by Watkins.
