Abstract
The UN Human Rights expert, Tom Andrews, has called for urgent action to build on the momentum created by the International Criminal Court's request for an arrest warrant for Myanmar junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. Andrews emphasized the importance of moving forward with justice for the Rohingya and other victims of atrocities committed by the military junta. While the ICC's jurisdiction is limited, Andrews urged governments to support universal jurisdiction cases and consider referring the situation in Myanmar to the Prosecutor under Article 14 of the Rome Statute.
