Abstract
The article focuses on Rithy Panh's cinematic exploration of the Khmer Rouge's history and the Western response to its atrocities. Topics include Panh's engagement with survivors and perpetrators of the Cambodian genocide, his critique of Western intellectuals and governments who downplayed or supported the regime, and his latest film, Meeting with Pol Pot , which dramatizes a propaganda-driven visit by Western journalists to Khmer Rouge-ruled Cambodia.
