Abstract
The article focuses on the increase in gas transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline during January and February of the reported year. According to data from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, 3.68 billion cubic meters of gas were transported via this pipeline, a 7.9% rise compared to the same period in 2025, accounting for 49.4% of total gas transported through main pipelines. The South Caucasus Pipeline carries gas from the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, with its operation beginning in 2006 and expanded in 2018 to include gas from the second phase of Shah Deniz via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP). Overall, 7.4 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through main pipelines in the period, marking a 4.8% year-on-year increase. [Extracted from the article]
