Abstract

An undersea cable off the coast of Africa has been damaged, causing disruptions to internet services in Mauritius and La Reunion. Efforts are underway to repair the cable, which connects these islands to South Africa, India, and Malaysia. This incident highlights the vulnerability of critical communications infrastructure, as other major internet cables in the region have also been damaged recently. The cause of the damage is still unknown, and internet traffic is being redirected to other submarine cables while repairs are being carried out. [Extracted from the article]
