Abstract
This article discusses the integration of psychological knowledge into medical education in the Habsburg Monarchy during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The research examines how psychological knowledge from various fields, such as philosophy and anthropology, as well as medical subfields, was incorporated into medical education in three institutions: Vienna, Prague, and Pest. The article highlights the epistemological uncertainty and transitory nature of the psychological field during this period. It also explores the integration of psychological knowledge into medical education by the 1840s, with the aim of training specialists to create functioning spaces for individuals with mental illness.
