Abstract
This article focuses on American physicist Robert Goddard’s pioneering contributions to rocket science, particularly his development and successful flight of the first liquid-fuelled rocket in 1926. Goddard demonstrated that rockets could operate in the vacuum of space by carrying both fuel and oxidizer, a concept initially met with skepticism in the United States but later validated during the Apollo 11 mission.
