Abstract
The article focuses on the Cannabis Museum in Athens County, Ohio, and its educational efforts to highlight the historical and industrial significance of hemp and cannabis. Fiber artist Isaac Coblentz, who leads demonstrations on processing hemp and flax into fiber, educates visitors about traditional textile production using pre-industrial tools like the Kentucky hemp brake and drop spindle. The museum, founded by attorney and cannabis entrepreneur Don E. Wirtshafter, preserves and shares artifacts and stories that reflect cannabis's role in American history, including its medicinal uses and economic importance. The article also notes the growing hemp industry in Ohio and the collaborative efforts of local fiber networks to support natural fiber arts and agriculture in the region.
