Abstract

Boeing has temporarily halted flight tests of its 777X jetliner in order to inspect the aircraft for cracking in a structural component that connects the engines to the wings. The issue was discovered during routine maintenance on one of the planes, and Boeing plans to replace the damaged part before resuming testing. This setback is the latest in a series of delays for the certification of the 777X, which is already several years behind schedule. Boeing has notified the Federal Aviation Administration and its customers about the issue. [Extracted from the article]
