Abstract
The article discusses the unequal access to water between the Navajo Nation and Washington County in the American West. While the Navajo people use the least amount of water per person in the US and pay the most, residents of Washington County pay less for water and consume more. This disparity is due to historical factors, population growth, and competing values. The federal government is currently working on a new plan to address these issues and ensure a sustainable water supply. Indigenous communities, however, remain skeptical due to broken promises in the past. The article highlights the need for balance and prioritizing human needs over corporate interests.
