Abstract
Narges S. Mohammadi, an Iranian physicist and human rights activist, was awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize in absentia. She is the vice president of the "Defenders of Human Rights Center" in Tehran and has been imprisoned. Mohammadi is also the recipient of the 2018 Sakharov Prize from the European Parliament.
