Abstract

The article reviews two educational resources focused on Australian history. The first is "Unearthed: Digging Up the Past," a Stage 4 History learning program and exhibition at the Museum of Sydney, which uses archaeological finds from the site of Australia’s first Government House to engage students with colonial history and archaeological methods, incorporating First Nations perspectives and interactive activities. The second is the book *The Australian Wars*, edited by Rachel Perkins and others, which presents a comprehensive examination of Australia’s frontier conflicts as part of the nation’s military history, emphasizing Indigenous oral histories and advocating for their recognition alongside traditional military narratives. Both resources aim to deepen understanding of Australian history through inclusive, evidence-based approaches that challenge established narratives. [Extracted from the article]
