Abstract
United Launch Alliance (ULA) successfully launched its Vulcan rocket, marking a significant milestone for the company as it competes against SpaceX. The Vulcan booster, which will rival SpaceX's Falcon rockets, took off from Cape Canaveral and is expected to complete its mission in about four-and-a-half hours. The rocket will deploy a lunar lander called Peregrine, developed with NASA, and will also carry the cremated remains of Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek. ULA hopes that the success of this mission will demonstrate Vulcan's readiness to launch government and commercial payloads, and potentially attract takeover offers, including one from Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin.
