Abstract

The Rwanda Genocide of 1994 and the ethnic crisis in Manipur are both significant events in modem history, marked by ethnic violence and societal collapse. This article examines how these conflicts can be used to guide strategies for community peace, social harmony, and development in Manipur. It highlights Rwanda's recovery efforts, emphasizing community-driven reconciliation and Rwanda's homegrown solutions. The paper also highlights the need for robust mechanisms and institutions in Manipur to facilitate inter-community engagement, address grievances, foster mutual trust, and provide co-working spaces. The paper emphasizes the role of the ruling governments in creating an environment conducive to peace, harmony, and development. It also highlights future challenges, emphasizing the importance of collaborative governance and community-driven reconciliation.
