Abstract

The article focuses on opening of D-Q University in 1971 when board chair David Risling sent runners to Oglala Sioux Community College, Sinte Gleske College and Navajo Community College to gather information on funding and accreditation. Topics discussed include organization chartered for tribal college benefits and American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), Mau Mau rebellion led by Indigenous Gikuyu, and economic growth dovetailed by decolonization in U.S.
