W.E.B. Du Bois’s Global Classicism.

The article presents the discussion on study of antiquity that decenters Greece and Rome. Topics include study and the canons we keep but also, accordingly, our professional training and hiring practices; and twentieth centuries by Black classicists such as David Walker, Anna Julia Cooper, and Alexander Crummell, whose writings both countered the entrenched white-supremacists.
